Sweatsuit CARE Program

Comfort

When a survivor of sexual assault goes to a hospital, and gives their clothes as part of the Sexual Assault Evidence Collection Kit, they are typically given hospital gowns or scrubs to go home in. To help restore a sense of dignity and security to survivors of sexual assault, brand new comfortable sweatsuits have been donated to be given to survivors to wear home following treatment in hospital emergency departments.

Access

The North Shore Rape Crisis Center offers 24-hour a day Medical Advocacy. Along with offering survivors and their friends or family support at the hospital, counselors are also able to provide information on services and referrals.

Respect

Working with Hospitals, Police, Human Service Providers, and the District Attorney's Office, the North Shore Rape Crisis Center ensures that survivors of sexual assault are treated with respect and compassion.

Empowerment

The North Shore Rape Crisis Center aims to empower survivors of sexual assault to seek medical treatment, make educated choices regarding their legal rights, and obtain counseling for themselves and their significant others.
