The North Shore Rape Crisis Center views sexual assault as an act of violence, power, and control on the assailants part. Such an act results in survivors experiencing intense feelings which stem from the complete loss of control they suffer during the assault. It is common for individuals to go into crisis after an incident or series of incidents, as well as to suffer reactions to the assault years after its occurrence. Due to the myths about sexual assailants and survivors, an individual will often find him/herself without genuine support or understanding. We, at the North Shore Rape Crisis Center, are here to help.
The North Shore Rape Crisis Center offers a variety of support services. All services are free of charge:

24 hour anonymous hotline counseling
- Advocacy
at the police station, hospital, or in court
- Individual
Crisis Counseling
- Educational
workshops/trainings around issues of rape, date rape, violence,
sexual harassment, etc.
- Support
groups for adolescent and adult survivors of rape, child sexual
abuse, and incest.
- Referrals for continued support
