An Experiential Alternative
site: North Star Adventure
This team of trained adventure counselors offers activities within two program components.
The experiential component of the program can be used to:

Challenge individuals and groups by engaging them in problem solving situations

Strengthen the bonds between and among employees

Create a more productive workplace
-
Confront workplace problems
-
Create an enjoyable and productive staff experience
The counseling component of the program can provide:

An opportunity to address serious individual or group workplace issues in an experiential format

An alternative to talk-centered counseling
-
An interactive, often non-verbal solution
-
An acceptable choice for resistant participants
Both the experiential and counseling components can be combined with other more traditional approaches.

Your North Star Adventure Councilors
This team of adventure councilors is trained in communications skills, problem solving, and team building. They are also experienced in rock climbing, canoeing, and the tension traverse and zip lines. In addition, team members could easily lead your company employees on a day or overnight orienteering expedition to nearby locations or the New Hampshire or Maine wildernesses.
Your liaison, Judith Boardman, is a registered nurse and certified clinical specialist in psychiatric nursing. Ms Boardman has over 30 years of experience in mental health and substance abuse services. Through provision of Employee Assistance Programming, Ms Boardman is familiar with many North Shore Employers. She has been with HES since 1978.
Background and Experience
An affiliate of Northeast Health System, Health & Education Services, Inc. (HES) is a private, nonprofit, comprehensive, community-based, behavioral health network. Incorporated since 1970, we offer a continuum of mental health and substance abuse services to children, families, and adults who live or work in the greater North Shore and lower Merrimack Valley areas.
