Crisis Readiness and Response
Promote Resilience
Preparation, Training, Defusing, Debriefing and Follow Up
The HES Crisis Readiness and Response Program supports three specialty teams of experienced clinicians:
-
North Shore Critical Incident Stress Management Team (NSCISM) for Emergency Responder and Corrections Personnel
All team members are trained in the Mitchell model for debriefing victims of a traumatic event or incident.
Members of both VOCAL teams have received national calls for support and responded in Oklahoma City in 1995, in Flint, Michigan in 1999 and in New York City in 2001.
A critical incident is: any significant emotional event that has the power, because of its own nature or circumstances, to cause unusual psychological distress in healthy, normal people.

Background and Experience
An affiliate of Northeast Health System, Health & Education Services, Inc. (HES) is a private, nonprofit, comprehensive, community-based, behavioral health network. Incorporated since 1970, we offer a continuum of mental health and substance abuse services to children, families, and adults who live or work in the greater North Shore and lower Merrimack Valley areas. She is a registered nurse and certified as a Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, with over 30 years of experience. She is also the Coordinator for the NSCISM Team and has been with HES for 25 years
