North Shore Head Start is a federally funded comprehensive pre-school
program, for low income children ages 2.9 years to 5 years of age,
serving the communities of Beverly, Salem, Peabody, Danvers,
Middleton, Hamilton and Wenham.
To qualify for the program, families must fall within the federal
income poverty guidelines, or children must have a special need.
The program is dedicated to the promotion of positive self-concept in
children which is seen as the basic ingredient in the learning
process. Children learn through play and age appropriate
activities. Because parents are the prime educators of their
children, Head Start sees them as an integral part of the educational process.
